Yes! Are you ready to Rhumba? Take me back to great food with great company with some of the directors from the safer, better beauty company, Beautycounter. We asked local chefs for the best appetizers in the Hamptons. A few foodies suggested the casual dining at Rhumba. The team decided to visit Rhumba mid-July, 2016. The lovely setting of Rhumba is blessed with wonderful views of the water. It’s tucked away and is easy to miss but the amazing ambiance and excellent Cuban-inspired food makes it well worth the ride. Service was fabulous and the whole experience just makes you not want to leave.
We only ordered appetizers and drinks for a pre-dinner fix. We picked a different place for dinner. We looked at the starter menu and selected delectable appetizers from a wide array of yummy choices. The decision was tough!
Here’s what the team ordered:
Double Dip – guacamole, jalepeno pimento cheese
Duck Empanadas – duck, bell peppers, spicy queso inside crispy pastry
Seared Ahi Tuna – grade A turn, island slaw with yummy sauce
Crabitizer – jumbo lump crab cake, mustard sauce, mache
Dominican Ribs – ribs with sweet ginger soy glaze and fresh herbs
Grilled Artichokes – fully cooked artichokes with red remoulade sauce
Food Review for Best Appetizer in the Hamptons
Our unscientific survey voted the mouth-watering duck empanadas #1, hands down as the team’s favorite. It was the crispy edges and spicy, cheesy duck confit combined with the sweet sauce that took everyone over the top. The taste bids entered into the proverbial heavenly like state. In case you want to make something similar at home, here is a Spicy Duck Empanada Recipe from the Food Network for your enjoyment. Until next time…
Peace and Much Love,
